36th Annual Campbell Boat Owner's Regatta-2008

Theme "Western Daze"

Well our 36th Regatta came and went on Sept 12-14, 2008.

Total registration numbers, 36 Paid registered boats and persons attended 87. Actual number of boats including Campbell's that just joined the group on the beach: 37, plus a few Campbell owners who were boatless for the event, but came to say hi and have fun with the group. We had a lot of people step up to help volunteer and make this a very successful event, thanks to all of you. We started on Friday night at The Eagles Club for registration and to distribute goody bags and t-shirts. Saturday morning we were in the channel on a beach with our horseshoe tournament and Dunk your Dollars contest. We sold 50-50 tickets and poker/21 hands. In the afternoon it was around the lake for a poker run and come back to start decorating our "Western Daze" boats. Barb Tyrell had brought extra cowboy and Indian costumes items , so when we rounded the wagons everyone was in proper attire. After stampeding the channel with a parade of "pardners" we tied up under the bridge to share some fire water and admire everyone's decorations. The next stop was back to the Eagles club for some delicious BB-Q ribs and Chicken and our awards ceremony. The agenda was changed this year and we did not head up to Moabi, but stayed at the condos and had our Sunday round-up there. A few Campbellites decided to get an early start and head down to Havasu Springs for some Bloody Mary's and an early snack. Once again thanks to all of you who attended to make this such a great event and we expect to see more of you next year!
